Remembrance Day Parade and Service 2018

Date: 13th Dec 2018 Author: Scout Websites

Once again 1st Theale & Calcot Scout Group were proud to be part of Theale’s Remembrance Day parade, joining with other local youth, voluntary and parish groups and organisations to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War.

As with previous parades, we were led by the local cadets along the High Street to The Holy Trinity Church where we joined the church service.

Well done to all our readers (Luke, Owen, Aiden, Megan and Freya) who wonderfully read out the prayers and poem.

After the service we served tea and cake (kindly donated by our parents) at the local primary school alongside the church volunteers. We took over £100 in proceeds from the tea and cake sale and this was donated to The Royal British Legion.

Special mention to Griffin Beavers in Calcot for a wonderful contribution to ‘Turn Tilehurst Red’.
